Apps For Good

Apps for Good is an open source education movement that partners with educators in schools and learning centres to deliver a course to young people aged 10-18. We provide the course content, training and connections to our Expert volunteers, and let teachers inspire and guide students.

During the course students find an issue they care about and learn to build a mobile app to solve this problem. This culminates with our Awards, where winning app prototypes are selected and subsequently launched on the commercial market.

We’re looking for Educators to join our community and deliver our free course in 2015/16.

We are an independent education charity and the largest provider of academic qualifications for all abilities taught in schools and colleges. Our aim is to enable students to realise their potential and provide teachers with the support and resources they need so that they can focus on inspiring learning.

Arts Award

Arts Award – unique arts-based qualifications
Arts Award offers young people an inspiring arts journey. Each path can take a different direction – from fashion to film-making, from dance to design, from photography to poetry. Whichever route they choose to follow, young people are always in the driving seat.

Arts Award supports young people to grow as artists and arts leaders. Four accredited qualifications are on offer (starting at Entry Level 3 and going up to Level 3) along with an introductory level. At all levels, Arts Award develops creativity, leadership and communication skills.

Open to anyone aged up to 25, Arts Award embraces all interests and backgrounds. Through working towards an award young people learn to work independently, helping them to prepare for further education and employment.

Arts Award motivates and celebrates young people’s artistic achievements. Young people can achieve an award through any arts, media or cultural activity, developing knowledge and understanding of their chosen art forms.

Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England working with 10 regional Bridge organisations.

Artsbox – Your Arts Award space
Artsbox is a digital space and app where children and young people can record and share their arts experiences or work towards an Arts Award. It’s fun, free, and suitable for all ages.

Artsbox is available alongside Arts Award Voice, an online magazine run by young people for young people interested in the arts and doing Arts Award. Young people can post reviews and blogs which they include in their Arts Award portfolio or link on Artsbox.
